Visitor Guidelines

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ

Garden City Hospital has revised its patient visitation policy for Non-COVID-19 patients. The hospital will permit limited visitations as following:

  1. No visitors are allowed for patients in any form of isolation.
  2. All visitors are asked to provide their own mask or face covering and wear it for the duration of their visit. Visitors who fail to comply will be asked to leave the facility.
  3. All visitors will be screened at the front entrance for symptoms of COVID-19. Visitors with respiratory infection, including but not limited to fever, cough or shortness or breath, will not be permitted to enter the facility.
  4. All visitations are allowed through the Main Lobby entrance between 11:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday-Friday and through ER on weekends.
  5. Visitation to critical care units is coordinated through the ICU team.
  6. Visitors are limited to 2 per patient per day, 1 hour or less to minimize the risk of exposure for all visitors.
  7. We strongly discourage visitors who are at high risk of developing severe complications from COVID-19, including older adults, those with underlying medical conditions and children.
Children under the age of 16 will not be permitted.
  8. Visitors will be restricted to the patient’s room only.
  9. Alternatives to in-person visits are available to all patients at GCH, including video and audio calls. Please text or call 734-644-3484 to schedule a virtual visitation appointment. We also encourage communication through audio, video and messaging applications available on most personal devices. See our Tips on Staying Connected During Virtual Visitation.
  10. No visitation is allowed during aerosol-generating procedures or during collection of respiratory specimens.
