Join in on the journey to better health with Passport to Good Health. This initiative is a combined effort between Garden City Hospital and the City of Westland to encourage better health and wellness in the community.

How Passport to Good Health Works

Passport to Good Health consists of six fun, easily achievable challenges. From fitness challenges, healthy eating, mindfulness and giving back to others, Passport to Good Health encompasses all areas of health. See below for a full schedule of dates and challenges. To participate, complete each month's challenge, give yourself a check mark and submit either through the form below or pick up and turn in a hard copy at any Garden City Hospital location or Westland City Hall. Turn in your completed passport pages and be entered to win a special, health-themed prize!

November Passport to Good Health

While there may be a lot to dwell on this year, this Thanksgiving season we take the opportunity to reflect on all there is to be thankful for. Not only does consistent gratitude keep you on a positive track for life, it has many lasting benefits on your physical and mental health. This includes lower blood pressure, improved immune function, improved sleep and reduced depressed moods. This Passport to Good Health challenge is about celebrating gratitude.

January-February "A healthier you" - Set three health resolutions for the year.

March-April "Fitness first" - Exercise for 150 minutes per week.

May "Relax and Repeat" - Do one thing for your mental health.

June "Eat Fresh. Eat Clean" - Do one thing to eat clean.

July-August "Park and play" - Visit one of your local parks.

September-October "Unplug" - Go screen-free for one hour per day.

November "30 days of gratitude" - One thing you're grateful for each day.

December "Give a gift" - Donate to a special cause.
