PHARMACY
Prescriptions Filled Safely and Conveniently
Filling prescriptions at the Garden City Hospital Retail Pharmacy saves
time and results in safer, more effective use of your medications.
“We offer medication counseling whenever a customer fills a new prescription,”
says Lita Regan, manager of the Outpatient Pharmacy at Garden City Hospital.
“We will ask if you have questions, explain what the medication
is used for, any side effects to be aware of, and how and when to take
the new medication.”
“Our computer system keeps track of the medications you’re
taking, so we can alert you when there might be a concern, such as two
medications that shouldn’t be taken together,” says Regan.
Even if you don’t fill all your prescriptions at the Garden City
Hospital Pharmacy, if you use prescription insurance, the pharmacists
will know if there is cause for concern.
The Pharmacy also carries many medications not found at other retail pharmacies.
“We’re a specialty pharmacy, and offer hard-to-find medications.
Many times people come to us because when they went to a drug store pharmacy,
the medication they needed wasn’t available. Even if we don’t
have the medication in stock, we can usually get it for you the next day,”
reveals Regan.
Customers often visit the Pharmacy after seeing their doctor at the hospital,
but many others take advantage of the convenient parking and location.
The Pharmacy is located just off the hospital’s main lobby.
