Stroke Resources and Support
Peer support and socialization can have an amazing impact on recovery.
Patients benefit from understanding that they are not alone in the devastating
experience of stroke.
Cerebral Aneurysm Stroke Club
The Cerebral Aneurysm Stroke Club is a support group that meets in the
Rehabilitation Unit at Garden City Hospital. The club meets the third
Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. The support group is for survivors
and caregivers. FREE. For more information, please contact 734-458-4396.
Stroke Connection Magazine
From the American Stroke Association, this magazine comes out six times
a year with stories by and about stroke survivors and their family caregivers.
For more information, visit
www.strokeassociation.org. If you prefer to start a subscription by phone or have additional questions,
call 1-888-4-STROKE (1-888-478-7653).
Stroke Family Warm Line
The Stroke Family Warm Line connects stroke survivors and their families
with an American Stroke Association team member who can provide support,
information or just a listening ear. Although everyone at call center
is qualified to answer questions about stroke, the Warm Line team members
are either stroke survivors themselves or have a family member who is.
Call the Warm Line at 1-888-4-STROKE (1-888-478-7653).
