Garden City Hospital ER Earns Level III Trauma Designation
Garden city - The Emergency department at Garden City Hospital has received a Level III
trauma designation. To meet the standards set by the Michigan Department
of Health and Human Services, Garden City Hospital underwent a rigorous
review process to qualify. Having this form of verification allows improvement
of health outcomes for trauma victims by getting them to right place at
the right time. Earning this recognition was a multidisciplinary effort
by the staff at Garden City Hospital.
This designation is important to the residents in the community because
it ensures that Garden City Hospital has the resources to treat trauma
victims. This includes the ability to perform prompt assessment, resuscitation,
emergency surgery, stabilization and inpatient care along with transfer
agreements that will allow the hospital to get patients to any appropriate
level I or II facility when more definitive care is needed.
“I am so proud of our team and their outstanding effort. Kudos to
the team members who worked so hard to make this a reality and to Region
2 South and HEMS for all their support and assistance” said Saju
