Peer support and socialization can have an amazing impact on recovery. Patients benefit from understanding that they are not alone in the devastating experience of stroke.
Cerebral Aneurysm Stroke Club The Cerebral Aneurysm Stroke Club is a support group that meets in the Rehabilitation Unit at Garden City Hospital. The club meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. The support group is for survivors and caregivers. FREE. For more information, please contact Tatiana MacLean 734-458-4392.
Stroke Connection Magazine From the American Stroke Association, this magazine comes out six times a year with stories by and about stroke survivors and their family caregivers. Stroke Family Warm Line The Stroke Family Warm Line connects stroke survivors and their families with an American Stroke Association team member who can provide support, information or just a listening ear. Although everyone at call center is qualified to answer questions about stroke, the Warm Line team members are either stroke survivors themselves or have a family member who is.
