Applying for OGME-1 positions
Garden City Hospital accepts applications through the Electronic Residency
Application Service (ERAS) for first year (OGME1) positions in the following programs:
- Emergency Medicine (OGME1-R)
- Family Medicine (OGME1-R)
- General Surgery (OGME1-R)
- Internal Medicine (OGME1-R)
- Obstetrics and Gynecology (OGME1-R)
- Orthopedic Surgery (OGME1-R)
- Traditional Rotating Internship (OGME1-T)
Applicants will be notified when their ERAS application is received. Those
selected for an interview will receive an invitation via email or telephone.
Information on selection criteria are provided under each program's
description on this site. In general, successful completion of COMLEX
1 and COMLEX 2 CE and PE are desirable for interview selection and are
expected prior to submission of rankings through the AOA Intern and Resident
Match through the National Matching Service. Applicants who match with
GCH will be contacted by email and will receive a contract via US mail.
Applying to residency positions
Most OGME2+ residency positions are filled as OGME1 trainees progress.
In the event that open positions are available, information will be posted
on this site, along with instructions for applicants.
Applying to fellowship positions
Residents who have completed AOA-approved residency training in Internal
Medicine may apply for subspecialty training in the Cardiology fellowship
offered at GCH. Applications are submitted via ERAS. These programs do
not participate in a match; applicants who are offered a position will
be contacted directly.
