Prime Healthcare Services Completes Purchase of GCH

Prime Healthcare Services announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Garden City Hospital (GCH), located in Garden City, Michigan.  

Prime Healthcare plans to invest at least $35 million in infrastructure and capital improvements beyond routine replacements and additions into Garden City Hospital. It will also continue to provide charity care at the existing level or better, as well as maintain a local governing board.

It was the third time in the past six years the health system has earned the distinction. Established in 1960, Garden City Hospital is one of Michigan’s few remaining independent community hospitals. The hospital began with a pledge made by the six founding physicians in 1947 “to provide high quality, healthcare services to local residents.” The 323-licensed bed facility’s is conveniently located on Inkster Road, just north of Ford Road and just west of Telegraph and is easily accessible from I-96 and I-275.  The hospital’s commitment to be a leader in health education will also continue under Prime Healthcare.
