GCH Offers Community Heart Health Events in March

Date: Tuesday, March 01, 2011 - 12:00 AM

It's good to take care of your heart year-round, but American Heart Month each February is the perfect time to get a double-dose of inspiration. Cardiovascular disease is the nation’s leading cause of death.

“It is so important for the community to commit to making heart health and healthy choices a priority to our families,” said Lorie Liegghio, Director Cardiology Services at GCH. “By glowing red this February, Garden City Hospital hopes to better educate our families, friends and neighbors about cardiovascular disease and celebrate the importance of awareness.”

All efforts have been organized by GCH Health Enhancement Center as part of the 2011 campaign aimed to combat heart disease, which includes life-saving innovations in care, as well as community education.
